Thunderbolts score five goals in loss to Ice Flyers

The Thunderbolts offense would remain consistent coming into tonight’s game in Pensacola, the first of two in two nights against the Ice Flyers.  Evansville would put five pucks in the back of the net by evening’s end in a 9-5 loss.


After Pensacola took a 1-0 lead, Robbie Hall, from Dave Williams and John Scorcia, would score the tying goal at 8:54 to make it 1-1.  Down 2-1 in the second period, two quick goals by Dylan Clarke and Dave Williams would give Evansville a 3-2 lead.  Clarke’s goal, assisted by Mark Petaccio, came at 1:29.  Williams’ goal came 42 seconds later at 2:11 and was assisted by Hall.  In the third period and down 8-3, the Thunderbolts scored more quick goals.  Sean Reynolds scored at 7:24, from Chase Nieuwendyk and Mike Fazio.  A minute and eight seconds later, Mark Petaccio would find the back of the net, with Williams and Jackson Leef assisting.


For Evansville, Williams scored a goal and two assists, Petaccio and Hall finished with a goal and assist, and both Clarke and Reynolds finished with a goal each. Jonah Imoo finished with 26 saves and Matt Leon with 15 saves. The Thunderbolts take on Pensacola once again at the Pensacola Bay Center tonight.  Face-off at 7:05 p.m. CST.
