After a week of roster turmoil, the Thunderbolts played their lone game of the weekend in Peoria against the ever-familiar Rivermen. Despite a strong late effort, stellar penalty killing, and the efforts of goaltender Braeden Ostepchuk, the Bolts would fall in Peoria, 5-1.
The Thunderbolts would hold Peoria to only one goal in the first period, and two goals in each of the last two periods. The penalty kill would fend off five Peoria power plays, including a five-on- three and a major power play. Late in the game, Mark Petaccio would spoil Peoria's shutout, scoring with 1:12 left in the game with a power move to the net, assisted by Eric Salzillo. Braeden Ostepchuk would finish with 29 saves.
The Thunderbolts return home to take on Huntsville for 812 Night on Friday, December 14th, and hit the ice again for Star Wars Night, taking on the Peoria Rivermen once again on Saturday, December 15th. Both games kick off at 7:15pm CT, with tickets available at the Ford Center Ticket Office, as well as online at EvansvilleThunderbolts.com.
