On Tuesday, the Thunderbolts and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jeff Bes announced a pair of transactions, led by the signing of defenseman Josh Slegers to a professional tryout (PTO).

Slegers, a native of Simcoe, Ontario, has played the last two seasons with the Delhi Flames of the WOSHL, playing 29 games and scoring 1 goal and 11 points between 2022-2024.  From 2017-2020, Slegers played at the University of Windsor, scoring 2 goals and 14 points in 50 games.  In junior hockey, Slegers played five seasons between the SOJHL and GOJHL, scoring 36 goals and 94 points in 223 games with the Norfolk Rebels, St. Thomas Stars, Waterloo Siskins and Elmira Sugar Kings, and won the GOJHL league championship with Elmira in 2016-17 as an alternate captain.

In additional transaction news, forward Nic Herringer has been released from his professional tryout (PTO).
