On Saturday, prior to the game against the Huntsville Havoc, the Thunderbolts and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations made several transactions, led by the signing of forwards Mike Ferraro and Scott Kirton.
Ferraro returns to the Thunderbolts after attending ECHL camp with the Savannah Ghost Pirates, with whom he scored 2 goals and 4 points in 7 games in 2022-23 before injury ended his season. Ferraro has played 87 games with the Thunderbolts since the 2019-20 season, scoring 27 goals and 43 assists for 70 points, and is currently ranked 5th all-time in Thunderbolts franchise history in assists and 4th in points. Kirton also returns to Evansville from camp with Savannah, and his 36 goals in a Thunderbolts uniform since 2021-22 have him ranked 2nd all-time in team history, with his 11 power play goals tied for 1st. Overall, Kirton has scored his 36 goals along with 33 assists for 69 points in 74 games as a Thunderbolt, while also playing stints in the ECHL with Norfolk, Cincinnati, and Newfoundland.
Coinciding with the addition of Ferraro and Kirton, forwards Mathieu Cloutier and Brett Radford have been placed on waivers.
