On Wednesday, the Thunderbolts and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jeff Bes announced a pair of transactions, led by the signing of forward Sullivan Sparkes.

Sparkes recently turned pro with the ECHL's Iowa Heartlanders, appearing in two games.  Prior to Iowa, Sparkes had just concluded his college playing career at Wilfred Laurier University, scoring 12 goals and 33 points in 66 games between 2021-2024.  The Waterloo, Ontario native also had a lengthy junior hockey career, playing 179 games of major junior hockey with the OHL's Oshawa Generals and the QMJHL's Charlottetown Islanders, scoring 23 goals and 53 points between 2015-2019, before finishing the junior career in the MJAHL with Summerside and Pictor, and in the OJHL with Trenton between 2019-2020, putting up a combined 32 goals and 86 points in 69 games.

In additional transaction news, defenseman Michael Douglas has been placed on waivers.
